Former President Muhammadu Buhari has extended condolences to Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), over the death of his 25-year-old daughter, Fatima.
In a moving message by his Spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari expressed shock and deep pain upon learning of Fatima’s demise.
“I am shocked and deeply pained to learn about the passing away of your daughter, Fatima.
“It is very painful to accept that she has left the world at such a tender age, but Allah, who gave her to you, knows best. My deepest and most heartfelt condolences are with your family in this hour of intense grief,” he said.
Fatima’s death has sparked an outpouring of sympathy from prominent figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who also condoled with Kyari and prayed for the repose of Fatima’s soul.
