FG fiscal team meets to Strengthen Monetary–Fiscal Coordination
The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, on Tuesday led the fiscal team in a high-level meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr. Olayemi Cardoso, and the Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji, at the CBN Headquarters in Abuja.
Their agenda of meeting focused on strengthening coordination between fiscal and monetary authorities to safeguard macroeconomic stability, boost investor confidence, and accelerate private sector-led growth in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Meanwhile, Mr. Edun after the meeting emphasised that closer alignment of fiscal and monetary policies is crucial to consolidating the gains of the administration’s reforms.
He further said that this synergy will help contain inflation, improve revenue mobilisation, and ensure credit flows into productive sectors of the economy.
