The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed disappointment over the continued postponement of the party’s National Executive Committee meeting.
Chairman of the BoT, Senator Adolphus Wabara, expressed the disappointment at an emergency meeting of the board in Abuja on Thursday
The former Senate President noted with dismay, that the inability of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) to convene the meeting stifles reconciliation efforts in the party.
The PDP NWC has shifted the date for its NEC meeting twice, from the initial October 24, 2024, and November 28, 2024 dates, as governors elected on the platform of the party urge the NWC to convene the NEC meeting in February next year.
In the latest statement on the NEC meeting postponement, The PDP National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, explained that the 99th National Executive Committee meeting was postponed due to the funeral of Patience Umo Eno, the late First Lady of Akwa Ibom State and wife of Governor Umo Eno.
He said that the meeting will now be held on a date that will be communicated to members in due course.
