APC thanks Nigerians for their support during Saturday’s bye-elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) wishes to sincerely thank Nigerians for their overwhelming support during Saturday’s bye-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Adamawa, Anambra, Edo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kogi, Niger, Ogun, Oyo, Taraba, and Zamfara States. Your votes were not only for our candidates in the various constituencies where elections took place, but also a vote of confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and a firm endorsement of the Renewed Hope Agenda. We extend our deep appreciation to our state governors, members of the National and State Assemblies, leaders and stakeholders at all levels, and the thousands of patriotic Nigerians who came out in large numbers to participate in the democratic process. We call on Nigerians to remain resolute and not be misled by the antics of opposition parties, who have consistently failed to present workable alternatives for the development of our nation. As the ruling party, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to democracy, good governance, and delivering on the promises of Renewed Hope for all Nigerians. We assure Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains fully committed to executing the Party’s social contract with the people. This includes implementing economic reforms, strengthening national security, accelerating critical infrastructure development, advancing health and education reforms, and promoting fiscal responsibility to stabilise and revitalise the Nigerian economy. That the APC won twelve seats and is leading in one of the seventeen legislative seats contested in the just-concluded bye-elections is clear evidence that our Party remains the preferred choice of Nigerians. Specifically, in the Senate, APC secured one of the two contested seats. Of the five vacant seats in the House of Representatives, APC won four. At the state level, out of the ten constituency seats contested (including one re-run), APC emerged victorious in seven. In addition, the APC holds a firm and unassailable lead in the Kaura Namoda South Constituency of Zamfara State, which was declared inconclusive. This outcome reflects the enduring trust Nigerians continue to place in the APC to deliver democratic dividends. Furthermore, the fact that other political parties such as APGA and the PDP secured seats in the Senate and the House of Representatives is a testament to the vibrancy of Nigeria’s democracy and proof that our country is not, as falsely propagated by the opposition, a one-party state. Therefore, Nigerians should not be distracted by the theatrics of the opposition, as the administration of President Tinubu is committed to credible, transparent, and competitive elections. With the continued support of Nigerians, the APC is confident of achieving an overwhelming victory in the 2027 general elections, thereby consolidating the gains we have made and building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for all.
