‎Group hails FG on arrest of wanted Ansaru Leaders

‎Hon. Murtado Ishola, a National Coordinator of Progressive Grassroots Network, has appreciated the effort of President Bola Ahmad Tinubu over the actions against insurgents threatening the north-east and the nation’s security.

‎Nuhu Ribadu, national security adviser (NSA), and the service chiefs have announced the arrest of two wanted Ansaru leaders.

‎In a statement on Wednesday, Hon. Murtado said the breakthrough reflects the “benefits of intelligence-sharing and coordination among security agencies”.

‎The recent arrest of wanted Ansaru terrorists and other insurgents shows that synergy among security agencies is the new success formula against terror forces,” Hon. Murtado said.

‎National Coordinator of Progressive Grassroots Network has hailed the Nigerian Government and security forces for the successful arrest of two wanted leaders of the terrorist group Ansaru….

‎He described their arrest as “a significant step forward in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism and extremism.”

‎Ansaru, a splinter group of Boko Haram, has been linked to several kidnappings and terrorist attacks in northern Nigeria.

‎On Saturday, Ribadu declared the arrest of Mahmud Usman, leader of Ansaru, an al-Qaeda-linked group; and Mahmud al-Nigeri, head of a new militant faction called Mahmuda.

‎Both men have been on Nigeria’s most wanted list and are also wanted internationally.

‎The group pledged continued support for Nigeria’s counterterrorism efforts and wider regional security cooperation.
