NLNG Secures 20-Year Gas Supply Agreements – A Major Boost for Energy Security

Last week marked a significant milestone in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s energy agenda, as the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) signed 20-year Gas Supply Agreements (GSAs) with six major third-party suppliers, securing up to 1.29 billion standard cubic feet (bscf) of feedgas.

Key Benefits of the GSAs:
•Stable gas supply to NLNG, reversing years of production decline.
•Unlocking billions of dollars in delayed gas investments, accelerating industrial growth.

This achievement was made possible through 2024 Presidential Energy Directives, now embedded in tax reforms, alongside a new competitive pricing framework. The agreements underscore a renewed emphasis on Nigeria’s abundant Non-Associated Gas (NAG) reserves, strengthening the foundation for the Decade of Gas initiative.

Aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda, these strategic moves reaffirm the administration’s commitment to energy sufficiency and economic diversification. More milestones are expected as reforms deepen under President Tinubu’s leadership.
