Governor Radda Honoured with National Award for Transforming Education in Katsina

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has received the Golden Award of Excellence for Education and Teacher Friendliness from the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) at the 2025 World Teachers’ Day celebration in Abuja.

The award recognizes his administration’s bold education reforms and strong commitment to teachers’ welfare. Governor Radda noted that over 25% of Katsina’s budget has been dedicated to education for two consecutive years and highlighted the recruitment of over 7,000 teachers one of the largest in Nigeria’s history.

He also announced rural teaching incentives to motivate teachers working in remote areas, emphasizing that “developing education is developing the future.”

Dedicating the award to all Katsina teachers, Radda reaffirmed his commitment to improving their welfare and thanked the NUT for its partnership.

The event, themed “Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession,” also honoured other governors, including those of Adamawa, Kebbi, and Kogi States, for their support to the education sector.
