Hon. Murtado Ishola, National Coordinator, Progressive Grassroots Network has explained why President Bola Ahmad Tinubu should be encouraged to seek re-election in 2027.
He said that Nigerians need to reelect Tinubu to appreciate the good work he has been doing since he became President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, two years ago.
In a statement yesterday, Murtado said “President Tinubu has done so well in many areas of governance. Let us take the area of education for instants he has sent almost 1 million indigent Nigerians to universities through his Student Loan initiative to enable the less privilege have access to education.
“In the agricultural sector he is here, he has provided so many incentives for farmers. In the power sector the has been able to take it to the next level. He has improved the power situation in Abuja by building the NNPCL 1350 Megawatt Gwagwalada independent power plant, at $2 billion or ₦3.2 trillion. He has made sure that there is electricity in every city, up to many expectation and he has promised to continue with that.
“In the economy sector, President Tinubu has “stabilized” our economy, according to Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director General of the World Trade Organization. Dr. Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala Commended Tinubu for his policies and achievement on economy.
“He has fixed our federal system by ensuring true federalism through Local Government autonomy. He has fixed our Naira by floating it, and ending the previous practice of subsidizing the Naira with $1.5 billion monthly.
“He has started two roads that will cut across Nigeria, including the 1068-kilometre Illela-Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway and the 750-kilometre Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway. He has reduced our debt from $113.7 billion, which he inherited from General Buhari, to $97 billion today,” he said.
The national coordinator advised Nigerians irrespective of age, status, religion, and party affiliations; to be politically conscious by getting ready for the 2027 general election.
He said “they should register for their PVC, mobilize for his re-election and vote for his in the 2027 general election. Don’t get involved in anything that will cause trouble or insecurity.
“Wherever you are be your brother’s keeper. Keep your eyes on the ball which is President Bola Ahmad Tinibu. Who is transforming Nigeria with his Renewed Hope Agenda.”
